Rota Vicentina is a network of walking trails that connects the southwest of Portugal. With more than 750 km of marked routes, it offers paths through wild beaches, dramatic cliffs, historic villages, and protected natural areas.

To be enjoyed slowly, at the pace of countryside life.
It passes through the main towns and villages along a rural route with centuries of history.
Made up mostly of rural paths, it is a classic Long Distance Trail (GR), featuring sections of cork oak landscapes, mountains, valleys, rivers, and streams — a true journey through time, local culture, and nature trails.
In February 2016, the Historical Way of Rota Vicentina was awarded the European certification “Leading Quality Trails – Best of Europe” by ERA (European Ramblers Association), joining the exclusive group of the best walking destinations in Europe. The
Sabóia » Odemira section is not included in this certification.
The Historical Way includes a total of 13 stages and 263 km.
